Uncovering Evergreen Ideas

There are many ways to generate ideas on what to choose as niche topics to come up with material that people are searching for.

Most experts will recommend using Google trends to come up with ideas. This is effective if you want to acquire a lot of visitors in the short term.

The trends information will tell you what people are looking for in the past few days. This is helpful if you are a blogger who regularly updates. However, if you want a website that will earn money for you without touching it after it’s finished, there other sources of niche ideas that you can use to uncover what we call evergreen niches”.

Forever niches are niches that has continued readers over a long period of time. It may take longer to put up evergreen websites and you see traffic immediately but once you are finished, all you have to do is wait and watch the cash come in. Build enough everfresh sites and you can get a
steady flow of earnings even you don’t touch it again.

To give you an example, I created a site about how to make a paper airplane. In the first few months of its existence, it barely produced a dollar a day. It was earning only a few cents a day but I continued with it. I kept building backlinks to the site. Now, after a few months of link building work, it’s already bringing in about $200/month. Mind you, the backlink building wasn’t really full force. I have many other projects going on. I was able to really seriously and aggresively built links for the paper airplanes site only in at the start.

I build links every so often whenever I feel like it. I wasn’t really certain if the project would bring in significant amounts of dollars. I just love
paper planes. So I kept at it even if it was just earning a few cents a day. Just this month, it started contributing a couple hundred of dollars a month and that will only increase as I continue to get better rankings in the search engines. I am now exerting more effort to acquire more backlinks to the site.

At first glance, it would appear that the niche isn’t as lucrative as the insurance niche. But consider this: this site of mine will be producing money years and years from now even if I don’t even touch it. People will be looking for information on how to make paper airplanes as long as there are kids.

The site is NOT a website that was solely made for adsense. It is a useful website and users of the site come back repeatedly. Some even promote it to others.

So that’s the first thing to keep in mind when trying to choose an evergreen niche. It has to be useful or at least entertaining. People must want to go to your website even if there were no search engines.

Ironically, having that in mind would get you better results in the search engines. The search engines measure how long a user stays on your site. If you have crappy content, your visitors won’t think twice to click on the back button. And it only takes a second to figure out if a site is crappy.

We’ll tackle more about revealing ideas or topics that you can use to put up everfresh websites. People search about “how to” instruction on the net.

And there are websites dedicated to thousands of “how to” topics. You can go to those how to sites and search for the most viewed articles. If you find something that interests you, go ahead and do your keyword research. You’ll be surprised at how easy it is to beat the pages on the older how to sites.

A favorite among internet marketers to find niche ideas is Amazon.com. If people are buying products for their hobby, you will know that they are passionate about it and that they will want to earn everything they can about that hobby. So go ahead and search amazon.com for items related to hobbies. Think about fishing, skydiving, chess, stamp collecting. There are a myriad number of hobbies you can write about.

Another handy page is Wikipedia’s list of hobbies. That’s quite a long list and I’m you’re sure to find at least one that you’d like to work on. Choosing a topic that you love will help you keep at it even if you’re still not seeing any good results immediately. If you choose a topic that you’re not really passionate about, it will be very easy for you to give up.

So we have already talked about two sources of niche ideas. Generally, how to’s and hobbies will be evergreen topics. The final interesting source that could potentially generate traffic and income for several years are biographies. People will be interested in the life of famous personalities. If there’s a famous personality you’ve always wanted to learn about, this is a good chance to learn about that person and make money from your research at the same time. There are even TV channels dealing solely with biographies and you can get ideas from those TV channels.

We have talked about three potential sources of everfresh niches. Surely there are several other places where you can get ideas to find everfresh niches. For now, the ones we have discussed should be enough to get you going. Remember that whatever information you acquired in this article is useless unless you go out and do something about it.

Take action and you’ll discover what works and what doesn’t and you’ll be on your way to online success.
