I am a retired business executive looking for genuine business opportunity in Kolkata. I have one vacant flat of around 800sqft (2nd floor) in tollygung area and the same could be used for the office/ business. One of my freind, who is having around 600 sqft office in Park street (6th floor), is also interested in working together. Required infrastructure / Investment will be arranged. there’s the link if you think this is a hoax, Coors and Miller have created a joint venture, effectively creating a 2 company market in the United States for the Big Brewers, A-B and now Coors and Miller. What do you think the effect will be on the american mass beer market, beer costs and flavor profiles. I will award a best awnser, so think carefully on it and please, if you cant give more then a 4 word answer, you likely wont hit the spot Unless it was "More reasons to Homebrew" or something along those lines. This is bad for the beer industy. This means that 80% of the beer market is controlled by two companies, its called a duopoly. It really creates a problem for other competitors because the resources of the giants (Miller/Coors and AB) are limitless in comparison to the little guys. The industry will inveitably go through a phase where mergers take place everywhere to avoid being wiped out by the big guys.

when and who authorized the joint venture of american airlines inc. and the nazi hindenberg zepplin. were some of the people allumni of the Yale fraternnity Skull and Bones aviation club before the ourbreat of WW II.?????

I’ve researched this all day. There is no such venture I can find between The Zeppelin Co. Or American. Nor was the president of American Airlines a Yale grad. CR Smith is a grad of the Univ. of Texas at Austin.

The easy answer is, there is no such structure. Joint ventures are typically not worth the trouble. Partners have different ideas and expectations, so managing a joint venture can turn into a nightmare on a very short notice. Consider alternatives, such as contractual realtionship or starting a new company.

Stock options for joint ventures?

Can a publicly-traded company be a majority owner of a joint venture that issues stock options (in the joint venture–not the parent company) to its employees and board members? Does anyone know of examples of this?

It is common for two publicly-traded companies to form a new company with each of the firms being part owners of the new venture. In many cases, the new firm will NOT be publicly traded. But, when the venture has the potential of being spun off with an IPO (and being listed), it may offer stock options to its employees.

Example: Ford Motor Co. and QUALCOMM formed a joint venture called Wingcast, with the goal of bringing telematics (on-board nav systems) to Ford Motor Co. automotive products. In this case, the venture folded, and those people who were Wingcast employees came away with nothing. Had the venture succeeded, and the company been spun off as its own listed firm, their stock options would have been very valuable.

Haperstar is an international retail hypermarket, opearting in fortress stadium lahore, Pakistan. I want to confirm, whether it is joint venture between MAF ( Majid Alfuttaim Group) and Carrefour, or Does MAF operating it as franhise of Carrefour? Kinldy answer it!

We have a sole proprietor truck business and are filing joint venture is it better to separate the income and expenses evenly, we have joint personal and business bank accounts.

I hope the we is a husband and wife married to each other….

For a husband and wife (unless they are an LLC) can choose to do either a 1065 (partnership) return, or attach 2 schedule Cs to their 1040. The IRS probably won’t question how you split up the money if there is a reasonable basis for doing so.

In a joint venture, can one company eventual acquire the other?

For example, if Company A has a joint venture with company B and the venture is very successful. In a few years will company A be able to acquire company B and then the joint venture will be more of a wholly owned subsidiary??

one company can absorb another company.

one way to look at it is like this (to make it more understandable)

when a man (company A) and woman (company B) decide to live together (merger) they are still separate entities. when they decide to get married Company A sues Company B and absorbs Company B’s assets and they take on a common name.

of course this example is only to clarify, but that’s how it works with the Company A & B
