How can people argue with over 500 million years of evolution?

It is perfectly obvious that, for more than the past 500 million years, our digestive tract has evolved for ONE-WAY traffic. Why can’t people see that binging and vomiting, and anal sex, are self-defeating behaviors?

I am talking about getting sonograms and ultrasounds to find out the gender of the baby and if it’s not what you want, then you abort it. I think it’s terrible. This is being done daily in India and China. They don’t want girls. The population of men to women in India is definately not equal. There are many more men than women and they are even trafficking wives in for the men. They are wiping out whole generations of women. Gender selection should be illegal. What do you think?
There is a two or three page article about gender selection in the new Glamour magazine. I read about it in there and it made me so angry.

I saw a program on this…that there are whole cities of men in IOndia, that have no hope of marrying becasue there are no women to marry…and families that do have girls are giving them to the highest bidder…do they not realize that they will wipe them selves out if they continue aborting or prectising infantcide?? This is a reason that dr’s don’t reaveal the sex of the baby after an ultrasound.

With the volume of traffic that includes Obama’s name, for generations to come, people will always be reminded of the man.

They are turning him into an icon that will transcend time in an ever growing electronic world.

I just did a google search and there are 206 million links that include his name — so far.

i’m quite certain he will leave a legacy!!!
but it will be of his own doing.
can’t blame conservatives for the trainwreck.

I live on a corner in a residential area where my side street has become very busy and gotten a lot more foot traffic in recent years. It’s a sixty-year-old house that’s been in my family for three generations now, and I just moved back to live in it after a long time in another city. The neighborhood is changing. I don’t welcome the change, but love my house, and don’t want to move. I just want to feel safer. My family room, where the kids and I spend most of our time, has two large windows, and passers-by on the sidewalk are literally only about eight feet from them. It can get loud as well as unnerving, since most of the people walking along this route seem to be either rowdy teens or homeless men with serious mental health issues who talk loudly to themselves. In the past month, there were several shooting incidents near my intersection, involving some teens from another part of town. The police dealt with it swiftly, but it’s left me feeling I should safeguard my windows. How??
BTW, the house is solid brick over extra-thick framed walls. And the neighborhood is not bad. The recent rash was an isolated event that the police squashed, and the only thing that’s happened like that here ever. Those involved don’t live anywhere near here, and the family they were visiting a street over moved out of state two weeks ago. But I’m just super cautious, and don’t like people that close to my window for any reason, even though the house is elevated by a half-story and the side yard bounded by a low stone wall. Erecting a chain-link fence would be pointless, and a solid barrier would only serve to give someone a place to be hidden.

If i lived any where I was afraid for my kids I would move to some where, a lot safer …Pronto

Why is common courtesy not so common anymore?

Get cut off in traffic or they just won’t let you even merge.Even in grocery stores. It is waaaayyyy past the me generation.People are just RUDE! What’s going on people?Are we not all in this together?

Common Courtesy and Common Sense have gone away and I’m thinking that we two are the only two people on earth that have it any more.

Personally? I LOVE forcing common courtesy on others…

I.E. I won’t block the intersection in rush hour… Not just because I don’t want a ticket but because it is a real b*tch move to do so… I get a thrill when people behind me lose their damn minds and start honking because we COULD squeeze 4 cars in to that intersection even though the light is about to change…

I.E. On the freeway… When you use the on ramp in rush hour… If you don’t merge by the time the lane has made it so that you need to either merge OR go on to the shoulder… I WILL move my SUV over and make you decide to either use common sense OR break the law by riding on the shoulder.

I.E. I LOVE to sit at a 4 way Stop Sign when people are refusing to let the other side go and just let EVERYONE go ahead of me…

I lose 4 seconds of my life but I always get a wave from those I let go first…

Making stupid, ignorant people upset by being nice is the icing on my cake…

The more they honk… The more I get flipped off… The more I laugh!

Why has my generation lost the innovative spirit?

Wake up, brush your teeth, comb your hair, put on your well-ironed pants, drive your car through increasingly stupid traffic, work 9-5, go home, brush your teeth, iron your pants, go to sleep………..REWIND!

Why does generation X/Y care so little about innovation and creating? What has happened in the last few decades that caused our nurtured generation to grow so unreceptive to creativity?
Alexandra, I completely agree with you. I am in that generation and feel that most of my peers, including myself, have been breast fed our entire lives. The luxuries of life sure feel good, but to what ends? Are we born to be entertained?! Even social activity has been interrupted with television and media. Many people cannot communicate interestingly anymore as they spend too much time entertaining themselves and less time being creative and entertaining others.

I think that because of the fact these kids (including my generation, compared to the hard-worked generation of my grandparents and great-grandparents) have pretty much been handed everything on a silver platter. Not having to learn to take care of themselves early on and to learn life’s lessons on their own have caused them to become indifferent about everything. They no longer have to do anything for themselves so they no longer care to be "innovative," as you say. Not sure, I just think that may have something to do with it. Hope this helps!
