If your business already has an online presence in the form of a website, then setting up a blog on a subdomain is easy. Most businesses use blogs to bring traffic into their main website and thereby increasing interest in their business all the way around.

The internet is alive with information and there is always room for more. Who better to share their expertise in certain niches than those who are actually in business in that niche? For example, if you run a floral business and you decide to set up a blog to bring in traffic, you would write content relevant to the floral industry. Articles about what plants work best during which seasons, or articles with tips on how to save a dying plant, etc. You would cover everything from beginner information to useful tips that can only be learned through trial and error.

The cool thing about blogs is that they index quickly in search engines and when they link back to your main site, it's instant traffic. With a little bit of cheap marketing and a unique business, you could be king of the web in no time.

If you already have a website, there is nothing to purchase and you shouldn't go through a company. Simply install an open source blog platform like WordPress on a subdomain and get some content up. If your company has a web designer, this should be no problem for that individual. It's a very low cost endeavor.

Since the other answers are very well done, Ill only add, that what makes a blog particular useful is the constantly changing content, when people submit comments they are adding to your content and creating more possible search results to lead back to your business.

The very best choice is to have your own domain, and then add a blog as a subdomain.

I'm going to answer these as you have listed them.

The best free direction I've seen so far for online business and marketing is from the site I have placed below. They send you instructions and shortcuts on choosing a business and then marketing it and getting traffic.

Any kind of business requires registration. Yes you must pay tax. so you must get a tax number. That information is easy to get.

I have used Paypal now for 4 years and I don't know what I'd do without it. It used to be a shamozzle and unreliable but since eBay bought it, it's been great.

Hi! It's great to hear that you want a piece of the American Dream. I personally have tried other network marketing products and unfortunately I did not do well at all. My problem was that I did not use the products. I believe that to be a great seller at anything, you need to have confidence in your product. Ask yourself what is the relationship that “you” have with the product. For example, I see car salesmen drive cars from their lot. What I suggest you do is create a blog or website about your product but don't pitch your opportunity. What you want to do is create a short report or emails about the benefits of your product and how it can help people.

You need to get an autoresponder and start capturing leads from a website so you can follow up with them and send them information about your product and in the emails or report drop a small pitch about your business opportunity but don't hard sell them on it.

You can alternatively put together a free report or email series on “how to” information for other network marketers. These are the people you need to target for your business.

You never want to advertise your business site directly. Always send people to a lead capture page first and then tell them about the “opportunity”.

Once you have some kind of lead capture system in place with follow up messages, you can do a variety of proven marketing methods to promote your blog or site and build your mailing list of targeted prospects.

Some very effective marketing methods that work with network marketing are solo ads, PPC and article marketing.
